Glasgow Chimney Sweeps

We are GOMCS qualified chimney sweeps who offer services in Glasgow and the surrounding area, including Bearsden, Milngavie, Coatbridge and Cumbernauld.

All of our chimney sweeps are fully trained by the Guild of Master Chimney sweeps. We are specialists in creosote removal using both chemical treatments and “Power Sweeping”, which is clean and effective, removing considerably more soot and tar than other methods.

After each sweep we issue an insurance approved sweeping certificate. Many insurance companies stipulate that chimneys are swept and certificates issued in order for your insurance to remain valid. You may also require a sweeping certificate in order to maintain a stove, liner or chimney system warranty.

How often you should get your chimney swept is dependant on a few factors such as; the type of fuel, the appliance used, duration of use, moisture content of wood fuel, and the type of chimney. You can find guidance regarding frequency from the Scottish Fire Service on our main sweeping page.

Having your chimney swept regularly is important for a number of reasons:

• To reduce the risk of house and chimney fires.
• To reduce the risk of dangerous fumes such as carbon monoxide escaping into your property.
• To maintain the high efficiency of stoves and boilers.
• To remove corrosive soot and tar from chimney systems – in particular from metal liners and chimney systems.
